Datawrite enthusiastic 8x speed version yellow DVD-R asked me review them. My samples arrived tubs 25 labels similar any other Datawrite brand a subtle difference was immediately noticeable was shape top tub had a wider outer rim rounded off edges making pleasant handle. Although tubs stackable compatible other designs cake tub (with a large variety media) inconvenient when I want stack them. only there was a standard laid down cake tubs life easier. discs yellow labeling stencil cut out finish; I am a lover yellow although writing surface stands out well. yellow softer previous ones a slight tinge towards red finish smoother predecessors. cut out type printing leaves small print difficult read. done label words "Manufactured Datasafe Media LTD" added word Classic absent put word Datawrite off center does look right perhaps printers should notified future batches. disc looks & feels well smooth edges a nice mirror mid purple dye.

disc I burnt produced playable films zero read errors there a tendency PI/PIF errors increase towards outer edge only slight in most burns I doubt any affect playback. worst burns come Liteon Memorex Teac & Pioneer 105 errors although disappointing unlikely give any problems. Again an Ideal graph

    BENQ DW1620

Surprising BenQ comes out worst in test a PIF average 16 major spikes a peak 40 layer change point. PIF also peaks 21 layer change point.

Although readings higher rest excessive burn still good just rest excellent cause concern.

The burn time disc was 46m08sec

    Again an Ideal graph

    LITEON SOHW1633S

A very good graph indeed Liteon burn PIE averaging 4 PIF negligible slightly in second layer

The burn time disc was 43m17sec

    Again an Ideal graph

So far I unable successfully burn any Dual Layer media drive current firmware. drive the Liteon & Memorex apart firmware so should write OK Dual Layer media correct firmware.
    Conclusion
All successful burns media produced discs read back perfect there only minor differences in PIE/PIF error charts produced worst graph Benq still a very good graph. burning time was around 45 mins a maximum difference only 3m02secs fastest slowest.
Playback discs was checked in a DK digital DVD-339 player playback was good a slight skip layer changeover typical Dual Layer media I tested does distract too much pleasure watching films.
want use Dual Layer media backups treasured movies concerned cost then media buy sure a DVD Player DK Digital capable playing back dual Layer media.

I burnt films media tested playback compatibility played smoothly in my DVD players I burnt media in drives PIONEER DVR-108 NEC ND-3500AG Memorex DVDDLRWL1 F16 BENQ DW1620 PLEXTOR PX708A LITEON SOHW1633S TEAC DV-W516G drives reported maximum burn speed 4x exception Plextor & Benq burn media 8x speed purpose tests I restricted burning speed 4x drives a better comparison
    Here resultant graphs
    PIONEER DVR-108 V1.14

A burn quality test in my NU drive

PIE very low a peak 7 a low average 3 don't come much better,. Jitter peaked 12.9% an average 11.2% a smooth pattern another good result PIF errors virtually non existent

So here we an example a very good burn put result best best

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a perfect graph. can I say

    NEC ND-3500AG

Burn quality tested in NU drive

Just when I said don't come much better we another one NEC drive PIE peak 6 an average 2. Jitter peak 12.5% average 11%. probably slightly PIF errors immeasurable being so low

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a perfect graph again can I say

    MEMOREX DVDDLRWL1 F16 vBWSE

Burn quality tested in NU drive

Good PIE graph a peak 32 average 14. Jitter 14.5% peak 12.8% average negligible PIF errors

Good results here in class Pioneer NEC Benq & Plextor

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a perfect graph goes off scale in my Toshiba. a typical result Liteon clone drives when burnt DVD+R DVD-ROM book format

    BENQ DW1620

Burn quality tested in NU drive

Looks I eat my words. can I say performance here outstrips competition when I did think a scan was possible PIE peaks 4 averages 1. Jitter peak 11.2% average 10.1%. PIF errors ZERO

I am SPEECHLESS result especially when comes a Bulkpaq disc

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a perfect graph. there nothing say

    PLEXTOR PX-708A

Burn quality tested in NU drive

PIE peaks 7 & averages 2 Jitter peak 12.2% average 10.8%. PIF negligible a peak 4. PIF peak 3.5gig point should ignored there a scratch disc point did affect playback

So here again we a very good burn

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows an almost perfect graph just one minor blip examining disc surface there a scratch point I put down bad handling could my fault.

    LITEON SOHW1633S

Burn quality tested in NU drive

PIF fairly stable around 40 mark up 3gig when starts rise reaches a peak 250. Jitter high side peaking 15.9% an average 13.7%. A few PIF errors excessive peaking 8 edge disc

The PIF rise towards outer edge good should a lot lower shown other burns saying playback OK throughout entire disc.

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

    Again problems here reading disc

    TEAC DV-W516G

Burn quality tested in NU drive

PIE peaks 104 averages 32 peaking towards outer rim unlike Liteon counterpart severe. Jitter peak 15.5% average 13.2% a bit high side only a few PIF errors

This an average burn plays well could a lot better

    Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a perfect graph

another good disc gives almost perfect burns in Liteon range results definitely take beating especially Benq result. printing my Epson R300 excellent vivid colours a wide range contrast. getting & difficult chose discs buy now so top quality disc appearing market I was offered a quantity (Bulkpaq listening) I jump chance able use them.
