PIONEER DVR-108 V1.14 burnt 8X speed in 8mins 15 secs

A burn quality test in my BenQ drive

PI peak 15 PIF peak 9 & jitter below 10% majority scan.

Scans don't come much better

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a near perfect graph. can I say

PIONEER DVR-108 V burnt 12X speed in 7mins 7 seconds

A burn quality test in my BenQ drive

Slight increase in PI & PIF errors outer edge still a very good scan. jitter still averaging below 10%

Speed test in Toshiba drive

Slightly disappointing here still acceptable bearing in mind disc was burnt 12x speed. graph consistent increased PI PIF errors in previous chart

NEC ND-3500AG burnt 8X speed in 10mins 13secs

Burn quality tested in BenQ drive

PI well below 10 except a single peak end scan Jitter average again well below 10% & PIF negligible

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows an almost perfect graph again can I say

MEMOREX DVDDLRWL1 F16 vBWSE burnt at 8X Speed in 8mins 40secs

Burn quality tested in BenQ drive

PI peaks 80 beginning scan settling down 10 a gradual increase up 35 end scan. PIF shows an increase outer edge jitter fluctuating around 10% an overall average 10.4%

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a near perfect graph.

The disc perfectly readable without errors although PI/Jitter tests could better disc played OK without problems

This scan shows a near perfect graph. there nothing say

BENQ DW1620 burnt 12x Speed in 7min 3sec

Burn quality tested in BenQ drive

PI very low 5 except last 500meg outer edge fast speed where raises peak 99 jitter just reaches over 10% point there a PIF peak 20% Still good results a disc burnt 12x speed

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a near perfect graph. there nothing say

LITEON SOHW1633S burnt at 8x Speed in 8mins 37secs

Burn quality tested in BenQ drive

PI very high start scan peaking over 200 dropping down 20 until latter part scan jitter peaks 14% in early part scan remains above 10% most time PIF peaks 40 towards end scan

Speed test in Toshiba drive

No errors here large fluctuations in read speed 3 gig mark

This disc did show any playback problems acceptable limits burn quality inferior previous discs

TEAC DV-W516G burnt 8x Speed in 8min 38secs

Burn quality tested in BenQ drive

PI remaining below 10 until last 500meg when increases 40 Jitter hovers around 10% majority scan averaging 10.1%. PIF a little high hear Peaking 56 end scan

Surprising disc burnt 12x speed produces better results 8x speed a PI well below 10 except last 500meg when rises an acceptable 20. Jitter well below 10% majority scan peaking 10.9 PIF so only minor peaks

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a near perfect graph much better when burnt 8x speed

drives burnt good discs had problems in playback. Teac did 1 read error. discs burnt 8x speed in Pioneer Benq & NEC produced exceptionally good results even when burnt 12x speed results still good. Teac & Liteon produced worst results followed Memorex although graphs erratic resultant discs played back flawlessly a wide range DVD players. I timed recording times drives 8X speed 12x speed here list fastest first

PIONEER DVR-108 V1.14 burnt 8X speed

The PI readings so low here graphs scale remained lowest 0-10. Jitter well under 10% averaging 8.1% PIF again negligible

If only graphs good

Speed test in Toshiba drive

This scan shows a near perfect graph

good scans here very low error readings three Liteon manufactured drives results a little disappointing. disc comparable counterpart FUJIFILM03 greys a proven track record. discs burnt Liteon drives give good speed read graphs without errors being good graphs other drives. Playback good a variety DVD players smooth chapter skipping forward & reverse smooth playback without freezing.

The printable surface measured 22mm x 118mm always dead central so I my Epson R300 print 21mm X 119mm when printed I wipe surplus ink inner ring a piece toilet tissue printed surface a good vibrant resolution surface being smoother other printable surfaces resulting in good high resolution printing

CONCLUSION
graphs produced majority drives exceptional Plextor PX-712SA coming out tops here (I look forward doing tests PX-716 soon released). Liteon drives consistently high PI errors speed graphs good none burns produced any read errors discs played back without problems in my range DVD players.

I burnt 2 tubs 25 discs without a failure definitely adding my list preferred media.
