Sharp has announced the introduction into the Japanese market of two new combination hard disk/DVD recorders, the DV-HR350 and DV-HR300, which are set to be the industry's thinnest recorders at just 59 mm thick.
Sharp made these slim and stylish models to go with flat TVs like the AQUOS and to fit smartly onto an AV equipment shelf. An LCD on the center of the front panel, an industry first, lets users know what the product is doing at any time. The hard disk records up to 150 hours, equivalent to about a week of TV programs (for the DV-HR350), meaning users can record to their heart's content without worrying about running out of space. The "Easy On-Screen Programming" function allows users to bring up the TV schedule on screen and select the programs they want to record, just as if they were circling programs on the TV page of the newspaper. This makes it easy to record long-running, multiple TV programs. These models also give users a wealth of ways to record and store digital images. In addition to digital dubbing between the hard disk and DVDs and a variety of editing functions, a DV input jack allows users to transfer digital video camera images to the hard disk or to a DVD and make their own digital library. These hard disk/DVD recorders make a highly attractive choice thanks to their stylish design, user friendliness and versatile operation possible only with large-capacity hard disks. Main Features 1. Industry's thinnest body (59 mm) and industry's first DVD recorder to incorporate an LCD 2. "Easy On-Screen Programming" function makes timer recording a breeze 3.
