An ice cream man has been convicted of running a piracy operation from his van, selling fake DVDs, CDs and games.
The 50 year-old man, William Agnew, from South Lanarkshire, was sentenced at Hamilton Sheriff Court after admitting to the trademark offences. He will serve 200 hours community service.
In a raid on his business premises in Blantyre, back in May 2003, 4,000 pirated discs were seized
According to ELSPA (the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association), which has publicised the conviction, the goods would be worth £100,000 if sold as new.
