Datasafe-Media have contacted us to say that they would like to publicly distance themselves from a certain unnamed UK based website that has sent out an email to their European-wide customer base declaring themselves as the winner of the Datasafe 'Number 1 reseller in Europe' award.
A Datasafe spokesperson stated that, "Datasafe Media do not make awards like this, so it is completely innacurate to make such a claim."
The spokesperson continued, "We are aware of the company in question and they do sell some of our products but they have not been given any award. No such award even exists! We are considering our next course of action, but it is likely that we will cease to supply them with Datasafe branded products in an effort to deter this company or any other company from using the Datasafe name and reputation to promote themselves or enhance their public image by making false claims. We pride ourselves on having close links with our resellers and distributors, so it is with great alarm that we see any company use the Datasafe name to promote themselves in this way. It does raise the question: If this is the respect they show their suppliers, how much respect do they have for their customers? Datasafe want end users of their goods in Europe to be happy with both the service and the products they have received. We have consistently found that those companies that offer the best service to their customers are ultimately the most successful. Those are the companies that we wish to be associated with."
